Hydration and Electrolyte Products for Running

Hydration is one of the most important factors for a runner to consider before, during and after a run. Dehydration not only makes you feel tired and demotivated but it can increase chance of running injuries and have a negative effect on both performance and recovery.
During shorter runs water is adequate for hydration purposes but if weather is hot or you have done a long run try a sports drink or adding rehydration salts to your water to balance your fluids and electrolytes.
If you are a particularly salty sweater on a hot day maybe swap a regular gel for an electrolyte gel on the hour to replenish lost electrolytes and minerals.
